The Institute for Nonprofit News (INN) is thrilled to announce that Glynnis Melnicove has joined as the new Research Director.
In this role, Glynnis will lead INN’s efforts to generate and utilize rigorous research and data to strengthen the nonprofit news sector. She will lead the annual INN Index, which provides newsrooms and funders with a comprehensive picture of the state of the sector.
Most recently, Glynnis was a senior researcher at the American Institutes for Research where she designed and led research studies and evaluations that informed U.S. Government programs and policies, including those focused on strengthening independent media and democracy globally.
This work included leading strategy and technical oversight of an $11 million portfolio of USAID and USDA funded projects across Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe, as well as designing and managing over 30 mixed methods evaluations, assessments and research studies.
“Glynnis brings a deep understanding of how research fuels program development and helps funders identify priority areas for giving,” said Karen Rundlet, INN’s Executive Director & CEO. “We look forward to working with Glynnis on further developing INN’s Index and research program to answer vital questions about the present and future of nonprofit news.”
Glynnis received her undergraduate degree from American University and her Master’s of Public Administration in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy from New York University. She currently lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and daughter.
